Chapter 2: The Requirement Process

Exploring, discovering, communicating and understanding the requirements are necessary in order to build custom systems or making changes to the pre existing software.

o   Right products require right discovery

It is always better to get an idea of the weakness of the project (its risk and cost) before being swept away by the excitement of the benefits that the new product is intended to bring.

Scenarios show the functionality of a business process by breaking it into a
series of easily recognizable steps, written in English (or whatever language
you use at work) so that they are accessible to all stakeholders.

Requirements are the foundation for all that is to follow in the product development cycle.

The intention is to canvas all the people involved in the project and ask these questions: 

  1. What did we do right?  
  2. What did we do wrong? 
  3. If we had to do it again, what would we do differently?

  1. The Volere Requirements Process is orderly with activities (bubbles) and related deliverables (arrows or documents).

    Business Requirements are an essential part of project success and a key responsibility for the Business Analyst.

    The BA must determine how to make requirements to satisfy all stakeholders.
    A key to complete and accurate requirements gathering is to carefully prepared documentation in business language so all stakeholders can understand and verify.

    · Functional requirements are things the product must do.

    · Non-functional requirements are qualities the product must have.

  2. It is always an asset to create a Risk Management plan because if it is not done properly it is going to consume lot of resources, some projects require extreme attention to triple constraints, and could lead to ultimate failure of the project.

  3. Business Requirements define the scope of project. It enable everybody engaged with a venture to concur what will be conveyed and what they can anticipate from the finished task. It is a written agreement between a customer and a client. Identify key stakeholders and categorize requirements help the business to make best project or business requirements.
